Parents & guardians

We get it. Your student already has early mornings, homework and activities, and now a science fair project you'll probably help with. This page is here to make that easier.

New to the fair? Here's how it works

The steps below show what your student does, and when.

How it works

What to expect

Why science fair

Science fair teaches your student to ask a question, test an idea, and explain what they found. Those are skills they'll use in every class and every job.

Helping without doing it for them

Ask questions instead of giving answers: What do you want to find out? How will you know? Help with rides, supplies and deadlines, and let the project be theirs. Judges can tell.

Registration and fees

If your student qualifies at their school or district fair, they register on this site by February 10. It's $30 per student, and fee waivers are available.
